- **Event Description**: It's time to prepare for the 2026-2027 Iowa Fastpitch Softball season! The Iowa Kraken are 8U through 18U youth softball teams competing in eastern Iowa in the fall and spring.

Players will be evaluated on key attributes (speed, hitting, throwing, fielding, attitude, and softball IQ). The tryout will consist of a brief warm-up period, hitting, fielding, baserunning, and pitchers & catchers exhibition (9U & above).

To register, email Iowa Kraken directors, Robert & Jeni Gaffey, at iowakrakensoftball@gmail.com the following information:
• Child's Name
• Birthday
• Parent/Guardian Name
• Softball Experience

Tryout fee is $20 via Venmo (@iowa-kraken-softball), cash or check. Tryout fee is waived for returning Kraken athletes.

Tryout Night 1 is Wednesday, June 24 from 7:15-9:00pm at Coralville Youth Sports Park.
